VALORANT Patch 13.00 Opens Act 4 With Summit and Ranked Changes

VALORANT Act 4 starts with a patch that touches almost every layer of competitive play: team roles, map knowledge, weapon choices and the numbers behind Ranked progression.

Sentinels and Initiators get a new tempo

Cypher, Killjoy, Veto, Sage and Deadlock receive buffs, while Sova, Fade, Skye, Breach and KAY/O get shorter Signature Ability cooldowns. Taken together, the changes encourage more active information cycles without removing the value of defensive planning.

Omen’s Shrouded Step audio has also been adjusted for clarity, a reminder that readable sound is part of competitive balance—not merely polish.

Summit enters Competitive

Summit is now part of the Competitive map rotation. New-map weeks reward disciplined teams: default utility, safe plant positions and repeatable retake routes matter more than searching for a clever one-off trick.

The limited-time Retake mode has joined the queue menu and offers a lower-friction place to rehearse exactly those compressed post-plant decisions. The Bandit also receives tuning intended to make it useful beyond pistol rounds.

Ranked gets another pass

Riot is changing Ranked Rating calculations and working toward more consistent visible ranks inside Competitive lobbies. Players will judge the result by match quality, not the formula, but clearer alignment between displayed rank and lobby strength is a worthwhile target.
