Fortnite’s 2026 competitive season has a new rhythm, with Epic moving its biggest event and giving players a clearer way to measure form across tournaments.
Antwerp moves forward
The 2026 Fortnite Global Championship will now take place on September 26 and 27 in Antwerp, Belgium. FNCS Major 2 has moved to July 18, with its Finals scheduled for August 1 and 2. The top 25 Duos will qualify for the global event.
Major 3 has been reshaped into a Global Championship Last Chance tournament beginning August 3. That online event will decide the final ten Duos, creating a much sharper final sprint into Antwerp.
Power Rankings create a weekly scoreboard
Epic’s new global Power Rankings use a player’s 20 best Battle Royale and Reload tournament results, alongside seasonal Ranked tier. Recency and tournament difficulty also influence the result, so one old peak performance should not permanently outweigh current form.
Season 3 additionally introduces Unreal Legends, a rank reserved for players who reach Unreal, maintain at least 2,500 Skill Rating and hold a top-500 leaderboard position.
Guild take
The schedule is tighter, but the structure is easier to follow. Power Rankings may become the most valuable change: Fortnite esports has long needed a simple public signal that connects week-to-week play with the biggest stage.
