Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update Brings Dual-Wielding, Cross-Platform Mods, and New Quests

CD Projekt Red has detailed the upcoming Edgerunners 2 Update (Patch 2.5) for Cyberpunk 2077, bringing new story content, dual-wielding perks, cross-platform mod support, and extensive technical enhancements ahead of its October 22 release.

CD Projekt Red has released the complete patch notes for the upcoming Edgerunners 2 Update, designated as Patch 2.5, for Cyberpunk 2077. The update is scheduled to launch on October 22 for PC, Mac via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players on Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version will receive the update in the days following the initial release.

Edgerunners Content and Quests

The update introduces a new side quest titled Clampdown, which is set prior to the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. To access this mission, players must complete The Heist and finish two gigs for Wakako before waiting for an incoming message from her. Completing Clampdown allows players to obtain a new five-piece gear set inspired by the character King. Additionally, a new radio station named HKGN 102.0 FM has been added, featuring a selection of tracks from the anime series.

Another new narrative addition is Paradise, a side quest that guides players on a tour narrated by Richard Night to uncover a mystery. This quest unlocks after completing The Heist and reaching level 15 Street Cred. Furthermore, 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards are hidden throughout the world as an extension of the Fool on the Hill side quest, which triggers upon scanning any of the new cards.

Customization and Gameplay Changes

Players can now acquire five new outfit sets across various clothing vendors in Night City, including Maxiwear, Jinguji, NetWatch, and IconAmerica, with the NUS Infiltrator clothing set becoming available in Kabuki and Japantown. Four new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are accessible through Twitch Drops, and several NPC-exclusive hairstyles are now available for V, subject to body type restrictions.

Hand cyberware can now be customized by visiting one of five Glamdoc locations marked on the map with a spray paint icon after equipping Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or the Projectile Launch System. A new Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree introduces the ability to dual-wield Power category Pistols and Revolvers, accompanied by four auxiliary perks and new Photo Mode poses and frames.

Mods and Technical Improvements

Cross-Platform Mod Support powered by mod.io arrives on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, allowing users to browse and install player-created modifications directly from the in-game menu. Quality-of-life adjustments include grouping save files by playthrough, adding item filters to apartment and vehicle stashes, marking modded saves with a dedicated icon, and introducing an FOV slider on consoles.

On the technical front, the update adds support for DLSS 4.5, glasses-free 3D effects on compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors, MetalFX Frame Interpolation, and FSR Anti-Lag 2. Performance optimizations target Ray Tracing and the PlayStation 5 Pro, alongside improved HDR rendering and various bug fixes.
