Microsoft Announces Compact Xbox Nano Controller Launching in November

Microsoft has introduced the Xbox Nano Controller, measuring over 5 inches and weighing 3.5 ounces, featuring 18 standard inputs and a $49.99 price tag ahead of its November release.

Microsoft has introduced the Xbox Nano Controller, a compact peripheral designed to accommodate younger players, smaller hands, and users seeking portable gaming options. Measuring a little over 5 inches in length and weighing just 3.5 ounces, the device is lighter and shorter than most modern smartphones while incorporating all 18 standard gameplay inputs in a familiar layout.

The controller is priced at $49.99 USD and is available for pre-order starting October 14, 2026. It is scheduled to launch in November across numerous regions including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, Mexico, and dozens of other countries, with regional pricing and availability varying by location.

Designed for portability, the device can be easily transported for travel or gaming outside the living room with titles such as Forza Horizon 6, or used for local co-op experiences in games like Minecraft Dungeons II. It includes a rechargeable battery, Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth support for cross-device connectivity, and a programmable Action Button customizable for screenshots, gameplay capture, and other shortcuts.

Alongside the standalone release, Microsoft is collaborating with Samsung and Meta in the United States for holiday promotional offers. Purchases of select Samsung TVs or Meta Quest hardware will include an Xbox Nano Controller and a two-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for new members. Samsung TV users can utilize the built-in Gaming Hub and monthly cloud playtime to access Game Pass titles.
