Why flexibility matters
Extraction games are unusually sensitive to economy changes, progression pacing and encounter balance. A rushed feature can distort the reasons players take risks, while a carefully tested adjustment can improve every expedition.
Communication still has to stay visible
A less rigid roadmap only works when players understand what is being investigated and why priorities move. Embark’s challenge is to preserve surprise without allowing silence to look like uncertainty.
